Senior Director, Multicultural Student Services
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion seeks a seasoned higher education student services leader, problem-solver, and systems organizer to oversee, support, and help advance the work of seven identity-based and intersectional campus centers at the University of Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a deep grounding in and knowledge of the cultural, social, financial, and lifeways needs that impact the arc of success for minoritized and vulnerable students in institutional settings of higher education. The Senior Director will supervise and support seven center directors who carry out numerous duties and programs in support of students’ sense of belonging, empowerment, retention, graduation, and overall wellness. The centers’ multi-pronged system of care for students who experience the University culture from alternative identities and intersectional lenses requires a high-functioning team of planners, strategists, and collaborators. The Senior Director will have the leading responsibility for the efficacy, empowerment, professional development, and accountability of this team. The ideal candidate will have strong management and results-oriented supervision experience; exceptional interpersonal skills; a proven track record of team building and accountability; and a relentless commitment to social justice and to the implementations of pedagogies and strategies for sustainable and effective institutional change, adaptations, and innovations.
