DescriptionReporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, this position is responsible for international student recruitment and partnerships. This will include areas such as recruiting, establishing relations with institutions from abroad and working with agents and advisors as needed. Further responsibilities include working with the University and broader community to support international students at Husson University and to actively engage Husson students so that they partake in study abroad opportunities.
Examples of Duties• Recruit international students for study at Husson University using e-mail, electronic text applications, web, and travel-based methods.• Evaluate and review international applicants for admission working closely with the Director of Admissions.• Collaborate with representatives from international high schools, colleges, universities, and organizations for special projects or programs as required.• Expand relationships domestic high schools that have enrolled international students at the secondary level who wish to continue their academic experience at the collegiate level.• Represent the University at various fairs and informative recruitment programs.• Coordinate and facilitate articulation agreements with selected international colleges and universities.• Develop and coordinate faculty and student “study abroad” programs.• Establish and maintain professional networks with related local, state, national and international organizations and agencies.• Coordinate follow-up communication with applicants and prospective student inquiries, monitors the processing of applications and the admissions review process with Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions.• Consult regularly with Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Services, academic program departments and external organizations.• Manage and develop international recruitment procedures and materials, create weekly enrollment report, and assist in the completion of yearly surveys.• Prepare department budget and monitor expenses on a regular basis.• Assemble academic and demographic information on students recruited and studying abroad partnerships.• Supervise, maintain and monitor immigration services and compliance with Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) regulations for the Student Exchange & Visitor Program (SEVP).• Supervise Assistant Director of International Initiatives and work study students• Consult with academic and administrative departments to ensure services for accepted students and provide prospect and applicant data to academic departments.• Remain current on changes in university policy and curriculum.Typical Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in higher education or related field preferred• Three to five years of progressive experience in international admissions or enrollment services.Supplemental InformationThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
