Job Details

The St. Lawrence University Spain Program is seeking a new Interim Coordinator. The Spain Program is administered by St. Lawrence University, welcoming students during both the fall and spring semesters. This Interim position has an end date of June 30, 2024. The program features “homestays” in which students live with families in the Madrid area, and offers an array of courses taught by accomplished Spanish faculty. Students also participate in several immersive field components and those studying for an academic year complete an internship.

The primary duties for this position are general program coordination, homestay placements, internship placements, office management, and budgetary support. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent level and assist St. Lawrence on-site faculty directors in program management.

The ideal candidate will be an organized, energetic person who is excited to work with college students. The Interim Coordinator will work closely with the Director, a position that is filled by a faculty member from the university on an annual rotation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work legally in Spain Be fully bilingual in Spanish and English Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent Be able to do basic financial record-keeping and banking transactions Be an active problem solver able to work independently and as part of a team Be highly organized and detail-oriented Have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills Understand St. Lawrence University’s core values as a private liberal arts university, and a foundational understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion best practices. Be comfortable using information technology, including Zoom and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Calendar, Outlook), and the individual hired will be required to learn Canvas, Studio Abroad and other university systems.
