The Opportunity

The Director of Student Services is responsible for utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration skills to promote student success; provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling programs that address academic, career, and personal/social development for all students The Director of Student Services serves as a campus liaison for all community outreach and parental engagement activities and, in addition, is responsible for leveraging appropriate community and government-based services that address student barriers to academic achievement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Understands and implements SESI philosophy, policy and procedures relating to conduct, discipline, educational and attendance outcomes for students, staff and parents
• Directs the development, selection, evaluation and implementation of school counseling, admission, attendance programs, and student and parent support programs. Uses motivational techniques and strategies in the development and continued improvement of a school wide counseling, admissions attendance, and student and parent support program
• Provides direction and leadership in the assessment and identification of the curriculum goals and objectives, while establishing a strategy to address specific academic, career and behavioral needs of all students
• Possesses program knowledge and understands the school district code of conduct procedures, state statutes and comprehensive school counseling plan guidelines
• Offers on-going evaluation and refinement of behavioral intervention methods in accordance with the operational goals
• Interprets and effectively disseminates school counseling trends and other pertinent data to staff, parents and community groups while assisting in the support and development of policies and procedures
• Attends all required leadership, team and professional meetings and participates in developing strategies for continuous school improvement
• Other duties may be assigned

The Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree Required; A Masters Degree in Education, Social or Behavior Sciences, or a related field preferred
  
• AEDY experience preferred
