Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the assigned supervisor, the Admissions Processor (Student Services Program Coordinator II) will be responsible for providing high quality customer service for students, prospective students, parents, faculty, staff, school district employees and the general public. The employee will work in the following areas: application processing, caseload management, residency counseling, high school transcript evaluation, placement evaluation, international student admission and other functions in support of the college's enrollment management goals. The employee will also work closely with Testing, Financial Aid, IT, Business Office and Student Records staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees the application import process to ensure accurate data and applicant tracking processes.
  • Evaluate and process applications for admissions. Communicate with applicants on assigned case load regarding additional requirements, including but not limited to residency, test scores, transcripts, and other supporting credentials. and counsels' students on next steps in the enrollment process. Inputs accurate data into assigned systems/software. Maintains files as needed.
  • Serves as the Residency Officer for Admissions, evaluating complex residency situations, communicating with the Director of Admissions regarding appeals.
  • Serves as the High School Transcript Officer for Admissions, monitoring transcript entry, placement evaluations, and communicating with School Districts regarding transcript issues.
  • Serves as the Designated School Official at the Beaufort Campus for all International students. Completes International student meetings, collection and processing of documents, issuing of I-20s, and monitors students status throughout their time enrolled. Selects, trains, provides daily work instructions and performs record keeping for all Federal Work Study students in Beaufort Admissions office.
  • Serves as the primary admissions recourse person within the Beaufort HUB communicating with the general public, current and prospective students, and their families on admissions, residency, and enrollment steps.
  • Assists students with setting up of TCL accounts (Navigate, Self Service, Blackboard, and Email).
  • Serves as 'special admission' applications officer by evaluating and processing; proof of legal presence, transcript waiver requests, transient, and senior citizen applicants.
  • Maintains positive and effective communications with faculty, staff and administrators.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and related work experience with advanced knowledge of South Carolina policies and procedures in regard enrollment. Advanced knowledge in admissions outreach, customer service and higher education specific software. Preference given to individuals with experience using Colleague. Excellent customer service skills required. Must be able to perform a variety of complex administrative functions in support of student outreach, admissions, residency and high school transcript evaluation. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Occasional supervision of a diverse staff to include students and part-time staff. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and the general public, and the ability to communicate effectively.
