Summary:
The position is in the Department of Community & Regional Planning (DCRP) and at the tenure-track Assistant Profession level. The overall responsibilities include research, teaching and service. Expertise in urban and regional planning practice and/or scholarship required, especially in international planning, and planning history and economic development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrate capacity for leadership commensurate with the appointment as Assistant Professor; collaborative research teams, working with a range of internal and external partners, development of transversal and interdisciplinary initiatives, as well as experience in urban strategy formulation; the focus should include international planning and issues in contemporary urbanism; candidate to possess the ability to further develop the Department's strong links to the community at large and grow its external profile. Professional certifications or experience in international planning and teaching online courses. Strong quantitative and qualitative skill sets, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferable.

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.

- Support both DCRP's Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning and the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning programs curricula.
- Develop and maintain a vibrant research agenda with the potential to obtain external funding.
- Develop and submit grant applications and research papers to peer-reviewed journals.
- Assist with recruitment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
- PhD in Urban Planning at the time of application or be able to provide assurance of a PhD prior to appointment
- Professional certifications or experience in designing and teaching online courses
- Strong quantitative and qualitative skill sets
- AICP is preferable
