SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Global Engagement, the Coordinator serves as the point of contact for Montclair’s international education partner. The Coordinator also serves as the primary liaison for graduate and undergraduate admissions-related issues for prospective and admitted international students who are recruited by the international education partner. Working with the Assistant Vice President, the Coordinator also supports initiatives developed by the international education partner to increase Montclair’s international enrollment.  

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with aspects of international education partner relationship management, including but not limited to regular communication and follow-ups, organizing and delivering training to overseas sales teams, sharing University updates in a timely manner, and overseeing commission payments.
  • Assists in the planning and development of goals, policies, and procedures related to recruitment and admissions of international graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Develops and recommends plans for assessment and improvement of processes and procedures to admit international graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Manages data flow between the University’s systems and the international education partner’s systems; ensures the accuracy and timeliness of information shared.
  • Establishes and maintains communication and cooperative working relationships with University key stakeholders to increase recruitment opportunities for the University. 
  • Engages with overseas sales team to develop a conversion process for prospective students and secures commitment from accepted students.
  • Guides international graduate and undergraduate students through the application process and serves as the primary point of contact for follow-up questions and information. 
  • Works to move prospective international student applications through the admissions conversion process by initiating follow-up activities that will result in enrollment.
  • Conducts virtual information sessions for prospective international students.
  • Assists with Slate mailings, queries, event management, and report generation.
  • Prepares reports on application and enrollment trends and projections; compiles, summarizes, and analyzes data for recommendations for changes or improvements.
  • Manages social media accounts for engagement with prospective students.
  • Supervises student employees; develops and supervises appropriate training programs for student employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of two years of experience working in admissions, recruitment, marketing, or student affairs in a US higher education setting, with one year of experience in international admissions, international recruitment, or international student services.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, database management, and website and social media maintenance.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills to support relationship building with prospective and newly admitted students and other constituents.

  • Must have a passport and be available to travel internationally for limited periods as needed.

  • Ability to occasionally work outside of normal office hours, travel, work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to take initiative.

PREFERRED: 

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Ability to speak a foreign language. 
  • Familiarity with CRMs (Slate, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience working with international agents and external vendors.
