Union County College is a public comprehensive community college providing quality, affordable, accessible educational programs that serve the greater Union County region. It is the oldest of New Jerseys 19 Associate Degree Colleges, serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College enrolls almost 30,000 credit, non-credit and continuing education students and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. General Description:
The Admissions and Enrollment Generalist is the primary service provider for students seeking entry into Union College. The Admissions and Enrollment Generalist leverages the College's Customer Relations Management ( CRM ) and student success platforms, Ellucian Recruit and CRM Advise to provide an array of student services to entering students and collaborates campus-wide to support institutional enrollment and retention initiatives. The Admissions and Enrollment Generalist implements recruitment strategies, strengthens existing County and community partnerships, and establishes new relationships to diversify the recruitment pool and promote the Union College brand. The position utilizes tech-driven enrollment data, marketing strategies, and systems to recruit recent high school graduates and adult learners and expand dual/bridge enrollment programs within the community. The position supports additional enrollment functions at the College including, placement testing, advising, financial aid, and registration through personal contact and virtual environments. Work schedule includes days, evenings, and some weekends particularly during peak registration periods.
Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in recruiting events on and off-campus, manages personal contacts, college fairs, middle and high school visits, information events, and community sponsored activities.
- Leverages the College's Customer Relations Management ( CRM ) and student success platforms, Ellucian Recruit and CRM Advise to manage recruitment territories and provide regular reports and metrics on outcomes of enrollment and recruitment communication campaigns.
- Manages inquiries to achieve timely contact and performance activity based on weekly goals by utilizing approved recruitment policies and procedures.
- Develops, implements, and assesses recruitment and retention campaigns to increase enrollment of new students and retain current students. Utilize various social media outlets to engage with potential students within an assigned recruitment territory.
- Collaborates with current students, alumni, and faculty to create new networks, and to participate in College recruitment initiatives.
- Assists in the development of databases, align and track communication plans; assists with the design and maintenance of enrollment campaigns.
- Ensures all students in assigned territories are aware of deadlines, application procedures, and financial aid eligibility including scholarships and the Community College Opportunity Grant ( CCOG ) criteria.
- Supports the campus tours and high school visits program and enrollment initiatives by providing presentations to external and internal stakeholders.
- Serves as a guide for students to utilize the College's enrollment self-service applications.
- Participates in diversity, equity and inclusion training programs and events.
- Participates in the College's commencement ceremonies, registration days, open houses, convocation and other College-wide events as assigned.
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
- At least two years of experience in higher education admissions/enrollment management, or competitive sales.
- Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment, including programs in the MS Office Suite, and various social media platforms. Ability to work with large databases
- Experience working with Customer Relations Management ( CRM ) systems
- Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Competencies and Skills Required:

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
- Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Some travel required.
