UWM College of General Studies is a great choice for local students who want a two-year degree or a valuable start to a four-year degree. Job Summary
The College of General Studies (CGS), located on the Waukesha and Washington County campuses of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, invites applications for an Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator position.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator will support UW-Milwaukee (UWM)'s College of General Studies (CGS, comprising Washington County and Waukesha campuses, and Bridge Program at the Kenwood Campus) enrollment goals through the promotion of CGS to prospective students, families, high school and college personnel, and the broader off-campus communities. Through effective customer service, territory management and full engagement within CGS's recruitment efforts, the Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator will attract a qualified and diverse prospective student audience to consider and ultimately select CGS as their destination institution. This position will conduct targeted recruitment activities in designated territories including high school visits and college fairs. In coordination with CGS and campus stakeholders, this position will develop a recruitment plan for students in their respective territory and will be asked to help with other recruitment efforts on and off campus. In addition, this position will serve as a liaison to prospects and their families for admissions questions and other related processes. This position will work collaboratively with other recruiters within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Dean of the College of General Studies, and the Welcome and Tours Coordinator for CGS.
This position will be primarily located at the Waukesha Campus
1500 N University Dr. Waukesha, WI 53188.
This position will be required to work some evenings and weekends along with overnight travel with personal vehicles.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

- Bachelor's Degree (granted by date of hire)
- Evidence of proficient communication skills and/or experience including public speaking.
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver license (or other such valid operator's permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree and/or certifications in education, management, communications, sales/customer service, marketing, or a related field
- Experience working with students and staff in a high school and/or college setting
- Evidence of ability to collaborate or experience working on a team for planning events or programs
- Experience working with diverse populations
