Job Description Summary
The Assistant Director for International Studies manages all administrative aspects of Lauder international studies courses and policies related to the core curriculum, Global Program, and non-language Africa Program.
Job Description
A key component of this position is to provide administrative support related to the delivery of our summer term curriculum and our master's thesis program, which involves project management, data management, support for faculty and students, as well as overseeing our assessment of critical writing abilities. This position also supports course logistics for the Global Program, international studies core courses, workshops, and immersions, which include some off-campus programs in domestic and international locations. The incumbent additionally will work with stakeholders to generate and manage website content creation related to our academic and programming activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 to 5 years of experience, including experience in international education program management
- Demonstrated project management abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, and intercultural communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, and staff
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and Powerpoint, and with use of Google docs and surveys
- T horough understanding of databases and data management, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, as well as sort and present data in visually compelling ways
- Familiarity with Canvas or similar learning management software
- Aptitude for balancing multiple priorities with strong organizational skills, establishing and meeting goals and deadlines, improving processes, as well as ensuring accuracy and attention to details.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals inside and outside the organization
- Availability to travel and complete projects in evening or during weekend, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in education, social science, organizational dynamics, or related fields and experience with academic advising and professional school programs
- Experience studying, working, or living abroad, as well as working in an international environment
- Experience working with third party vendors to organize logistics for group and individual travel in domestic and international locations
- Experience with Qualtrics and/or Canva is a plus
