ArtCenter College of Design is searching for an experienced Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students to join our team.
The salary range for this position: $160,000.00 - 180,000.00
Finalsalary is based on education, experience, skills relevant to therole, and internal equity.

Reporting to the SeniorVice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Vice Presidentof Student Affairs and Dean of Students is responsible for the strategicleadership of the Center for the Student Experience (CSE, which comprises thestudent affairs functions of the College) and is the College's senior studentaffairs officer. The CSE serves approximately 2,100 undergraduate and 300graduate students and includes programs to support student success for adiverse student population. The incumbent will shape the vision for current andfuture programs, services, and support that define the student experience atArtCenter and will serve as an institutional resource on topics pertinent tostudent success, retention, and well-being.
This position will work in collaboration with departments across the College, including but not limited to Admissions, Academic Deans, Department Chairs/Associate Chairs/Assistant Chairs and faculty, Faculty Development, Alumni Affairs, Marketing and Communications, Development, and Campus Safety, and will lead the CSE to provide innovative, engaging, developmental, and learning-centered programs and services that shape the student experience.
This is a full-time in-region position. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or as defined by the department. The position is eligible for flexible scheduling and can be performed on-site, hybrid in-region or may be required as a condition of employment. The demands of this work may include weekends or evenings.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a senior leadership role within the student affairs, student services or related field
- 5 years of supervisory responsibilities, including developing teams, conducting performance evaluations and performance management
- Strong leader with proven organizational abilities and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team setting
- Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques at the college level
- Experience with college/university campus judicial procedures and policies and Title IX
- Able to assess and support the developmental needs of all college students across a broad spectrum of diverse lived experiences and backgrounds
- Ability to cultivate and maintain good working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders related to the ongoing operations of the department, including executive leadership, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni
- Familiarity and/or direct experience with college/university best practices in new student orientation programs, student success programs, health and wellness issues, and student life policy and practice
- Ability to enforce and implement policies and procedures
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging into work practices and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within ArtCenter's diverse communities
- Experience in assessment and evaluation of student programs and services
- Strong analytical and human relations skills to negotiate solutions to complex student issues and concerns
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills and the ability to handle conflict resolution issues is important; strong analytical and human relations skills needed to negotiate solutions to complex student issues and concerns
- Knowledge of college/university best practices in risk management
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with advanced skills in Excel and experience with data analytics

- Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
- Master's degree in higher education administration or a related field from an accredited college of university
- Background in Art or Design fields, or previous experience in an Art and Design educational environment
- Experience working with higher education software applications such as Maxient, Colleague, Innovative Educators
