Job Responsibilities
The Recruiter will take independent initiative to act in response to such barriers. The Admissions Recruiter is also responsible for collecting and analyzing enrollment data to assess progress toward their goals and managing student files to coordinate the admissions/enrollment process. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Recruiter will work with constituents in their assigned recruitment areas to develop recruitment activities that will serve to promote Florence-Darlington College. The Admissions Recruiter may be expected to travel within the state and at times work outside regular office hours.
Job Functions:
Provide timely processing of applications, transcripts, and test scores to complete the application process and accept the student. Perform monthly file review on applicants in assigned programs and service areas and notify applicants via email, phone call, or written correspondence regarding missing information required to complete the acceptance process. Counsel students regarding program selection.
Coordinate recruitment activities with external agencies. Collaborate with area high schools, One Stop centers, adult education centers to schedule monthly recruitment visits. Perform admissions information sessions in classrooms and in business/industry. Participate in area college/career days. Collaborate with external contacts (high school counselors, etc.) to obtain applicant's high school transcripts and test scores. Act as a liaison between the college and service area. Maintain appropriate records.
Coordinate recruitment activities with internal parties. Provide admissions information to prospective students through on-campus tours. Communicate with faculty regarding available program openings for prospective students. Collaborate with faculty to arrange program presentations to external agencies.
Administer college's entrance tests at area high schools. Perform follow-up with students regarding test outcomes and admissions requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer a Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and two years of experience in a related field. In addition, have an understanding of higher education and specifically the value of public two year institutions. Work experience in a professional setting; Ability to effectively communicate with culturally and ethnically diverse populations; must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; must be willing to be a team player, and have enthusiasm for representing Florence-Darlington Technical College and for working with college students. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community is required as well as detailed working knowledge of MS Word and Excel; proficiency in spreadsheets and other related software applications.
