Radford University welcomes applicants for the Education Abroad Coordinator in the Center for Global Education and Engagement. The Education Abroad Coordinator responsibilities will include:
- Manage all education abroad programs, including semester, summer, exchange, faculty-led, internship, affiliate, and others.
- Advise students on education abroad opportunities, program selection, academics, finances, visa requirements, health and safety policies, and administration matters.
- Work with faculty to develop and implement continuing and new faculty-led and customized programs according to policy.
- Collaborate and communicate with campus partners during a students' education abroad experience.
- Integrate diversity and inclusion best practices into advising methods.
- Review applications, including preparing and certifying documents for partners.
- Deliver pre-departure orientation and re-entry programming for education abroad students.
- Maintain up-to-date program information for advertising and communications.
- Liaise with advising offices, colleges, departments, faculty, and staff at RU to share programs abroad information and updates.
- Conduct presentations/information sessions for individuals and groups of various sizes and backgrounds to promote global education experiences.
- Participate in university-wide opportunities to market study abroad, including Open Houses, Quest summer orientation of new students, Highlander Days, athletic events, and other venues.
- Perform international site visits to institutions and program providers and attend international education conferences as budget and schedule allow.
- Lead the international health insurance enrollment process for students and employees traveling abroad.
- Serve as the main campus Fulbright contact.
- Manage and maintain the Terra Dotta system for study abroad.
- Chair the Education Abroad Advisor Council (EAAC).
- Other duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of higher education global programs, standards, requirements, and practices.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion while executing program goals, policies, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with study abroad program representatives, faculty, and students in a professional manner with an understanding of protocol and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral formal/informal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with international partners who are often non-native English speakers.
- Ability to work periodic evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public speaking experience.
- Experience living or studying abroad.
- Proficiency in a foreign language.
- Familiarity with Terra Dotta software system.
