Holt International has a semester-long internship opportunity available for a skilled and passionate undergraduate student in the International Programs department. Our paid internship experiences provide students the chance to learn about international development and child welfare programming from an international non-profit organization with 65 years' experience. Holt International interns participate in and learn from a high-functioning organization working in 14 countries around the world.
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS (M&E) INTERNSHIP
The International Programs department oversees Holt's programming abroad. Our programs are designed to improve the lives of the children and families we serve. We offer a wide range of programs and services under our three pillars: Family Strengthening, Care for Children in Residential/Institutional Care, and Adoption Services. The International Programs Intern will support the development of organization-wide and program level Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools and resources to train staff. The intern will also support tracking and evaluating the impact of multi-level programming across all three of Holt's service pillars.
We are looking for motivated students who are passionate about data management, M&E systems, methods, and analysis. Interns will work on a variety of projects to meet their school competencies including research, M&E training curriculum development, assessment, M&E tool development, data cleaning and analysis, and program promotion. Interns will have the ability to provide input on M&E systems, data tracking tools, and impact analysis. Exposure to Holt's international programs and tracking mechanisms will provide interns with the hands-on skills and knowledge needed to supplement their undergraduate studies.
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with data collection, cleaning, and quality control
Work with Holt staff members developing M&E systems and baseline assessments
Assist with research and revision of data collection tools
Assist with writing and editing
Support review and development of data tracking tools and impact analyses
QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Successful applicants will have the following skills and/or experience: Coursework in areas including project design, monitoring and evaluation, nonprofit management, international development, data analysis, or project management Microsoft Office proficiency Excellent written and oral communication skills Data collection and analysis experience Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience with monitoring and evaluation methodologies (preferred) Commitment to Holt International's mission and values This internship can be completed remotely or in-person in our Eugene office. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00- 4:30 pm PST. This internship will be offered through the fall-winter terms. The duration of each internship is expected to last 2-3 months, with the intern working a total of 65 hours. Students interested in long-term research projects can intern with Holt for up to 3 school terms. All pre-placement documentation must be finalized prior to starting an internship with Holt International. Background checks may be required, but any associated costs will be covered by Holt International.
