Position Overview
The WSSU Division of Enrollment Management is in search of a dynamic individual to fulfill the critical role of Director of Admissions. The ideal candidate should be able to handle a wide array of detailed leadership responsibilities including, personnel, budget, and detailed reporting. Candidate should possess excellent quantitative and date management skills including statistics and should be familiar with Microsoft suite and web-based services. Experience with Sunguard Banner, FOCUS report generation and EMT applications are preferred. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership ability and excellent communication skills; a willingness and ability to work to achieve goals outside of the boundaries of a convention work week; a track record of excellent managerial, planning, supervisory, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Candidate should have strong organizational skills with a commitment to diversity, a student-centered philosophy, and strong customer services orientation.

Position Summary
This position provides leadership and administrative oversight for the following: Provides effective management to the offices of Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Solutions Center, uses data to drive decisions, and develops the policies and procedures that govern enrollment processes. Provides energetic and innovative leadership of the highest integrity to the admissions and financial aid functions. Will bring enrollment to the next level by focusing on marketing, the strategic use of financial aid to meet institutional needs, and use best practices in the industry. Interpretation of Graduate and Undergraduate federal and state regulations, guidelines governing financial aid and scholarship programs Develops structures and processes to collect and analyze marketing and enrollment data to support decisions-making and makes recommendations to guide strategy development. Supervise personnel, performance management plans, budgets, payroll and salary matters Reconciliation and reporting of financial aid transactional processes for federal and state records Supervise Sunguard SCT Banner implementation and updating web pages Interaction between enrollment services units to insure seamless integrated processes Network with Recruitment Enrollment Communication team to develop targeted marketing and media campaigns to generate prospective students.

Qualification:
A master’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of relevant admissions management experience in higher education.
Exceptional admissions management skills in all facets of student enrollment and success, with the ability to navigate and test multiple outreach channels to achieve goals.
Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, particularly the growth in enrollment innovative strategy implementation
Ability to analyze data and create reports to assess the effectiveness of marketing channels and strategies.
Ability to use data-informed decision-making to inform channel allocations and refinements.
Ability to work with multiple partners in building consensus and relationships while managing the prioritization of competing requests in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community members from diverse racial, socioeconomic, cultural backgrounds, and varying language skills.
Excellent planning, administration, organizational and supervisory skills.
Excellent writing, research, and presentation communication skills, and a bias for action and results.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
An advanced graduate degree is required from an accredited college and university. Additional formal training in Financial Aid operations and regulations is preferred. Experience: Five years or more of leadership experience in enrollment services function areas. In addition, the successful candidate must have five years of experience in electronic financial aid planning, date-driven enrollment planning processes, and Student Information System (SIS), FOCUS report generation and Banner information systems. Candidate must have five years of experience in applying strategic financial aid and scholarship academic success and retention management principles and practices at the university level. Must be able to work efficiently, cooperatively, and collaboratively in a team environment. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Flexible and willing to adapt to changes in the work environment. Comfortable working in a multicultural environment and committed to fostering an inclusive culture. Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook.
