Position Overview

WESLI is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and results-driven International Student Recruiter. This a full-time position at Wisconsin ESL Institute (WESLI) and this employee will work under the direct supervision of the Co-Director of Engagement and Student Services. The International Student Recruiter will work with the Co-Director to develop, plan and implement a sales and marketing strategy for all WESLI programs targeted towards increasing enrollments in existing and new markets.

Candidates should be independent problem solvers who enjoy finding creative solutions and possess the ability to work with cultural sensitivity across language and cultural barriers. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, highly motivated, and have excellent communication skills. Excellent candidates will have experience in marketing, communications, and sales, plus an interest in international education. Previous experience working in international education is preferred but not required. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and highly motivated individual to deliver strong enrollment growth and excellent customer experiences.

 

Position Summary

In collaboration with the Co-Director, the International Student Recruiter will:

  • Manage and oversee agent relations in across markets

    Develop and implement strategic marketing and sales plans, including advertising and promotional activities, to increase student enrollment for all WESLI programs

    Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives to expand WESLI’s partnership with universities abroad to increase enrollment in the Pathways and Teacher Training Programs

    Develop and implement strategic plans to utilize alumni, word of mouth, and increase marketing channels

    Manage recruitment budgets

 

The candidate must be comfortable with doing what is necessary to get the job done and to be prepared to work with the leadership team to determine what needs to be accomplished.

We are planning to build up a successful marketing plan with the end goal of increasing student enrollment quickly and sustainably.

 

Recruitment 

  • Plan with the Co-Director on the overall marketing and recruitment strategy for WESLI

    Develop partner relationships and develop new organization relationships to grow enrollments

    Manage proposals for new marketing opportunities, and work with the Co-Director in making decisions about feasibility

    Consult with the Co-Director on agency commission and promotions

    Collaborate with the Co-Director to research, decide, and implement which cities, study abroad fairs, and agents to visit in the countries selected

    Recruit former WESLI students to help promote WESLI at the fairs

    Manage travel responsibilities for recruitment including preparing, travel, recruitment events, and post-travel tasks including contact follow up

Job Requirements

This is a full-time salaried position, Monday through Friday. Candidates should be prepared for evening and weekend hours as needed. Travel, both regionally and internationally, is required for this position as scheduled.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field

    Strong interpersonal and communications skills

    Ability to work independently and take initiative in all areas of the job description

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes requiring long hours, to ensure increases in student enrollment

    Outgoing and comfortable working with diverse populations of international students, staff and partners

    Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities

    Excellent organization skills and the ability to meet deadlines

    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a team of WESLI employees

    Ability to travel

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years marketing, sales and communications experience in the ESL industry

    Proven track record of increased enrollments

    International Experience in recruitment and marketing or related

    Eligibility to work in the US without employer sponsorship

     

Compensation

Compensation will begin at $45,000USD for the salaried appointment. Candidates with sufficient past responsibilities could be considered for an expanded role with accompanying salary. Bonuses are based on enrollment and revenue increases resulting from marketing initiatives. This position has vacation, personal days and public holidays, annually to use. Health insurance is available.
