The Academic Advisor, Student Services will advise students in online graduate degree programs at NYU Tandon on academic curriculum, policies and procedures, transfer credits, academic improvement for students at-risk or on probation, and will make recommendations when appropriate. Create and implement orientation, co-curricular and retention programs for online degree program students. As a member of the Online Student Services team, the academic advisor will also assist in the delivery of additional student services functions.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling or related field.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or related field
Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience in student advising or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years experience in advising graduate students at the college or university level, experience in developing and executing co-curricular programs.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to work as a team member; to think creatively; and to evaluate and improve existing process and procedures. Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and problem solve. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with the computer science, cyber security, and/or technology fields is a plus.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500 to USD $71,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
