Job Details
The Assistant Director for Special Programs oversees all aspects of special programming for the Center for American Language & Culture (TCALC), a revenue generating auxiliary department at Temple University offering English language and culture classes to international students and partners. These programs range from short-term programs for international partner universities and specialized high school programs to teacher training programs, including grant-funded programming, and other programs as they are developed. The assistant director develops processes and procedures for ensuring efficient systems for the planning, enrollment, and all logistical aspects of these special programs including procurement of vendors to provide such necessary services as, but not limited to, transportation, hotel, and activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent collaboration skills needed to work collaboratively with all members of the TCALC team from the admission and enrollment team to academics and student services, ensuring that all aspects of special programs implementation follow TCALC and university policies and procedures and that curricula align with program goals. Where programming is inter-departmental in nature, this position requires collaboration across Temple departments, and the AD may also serve as the primary point of contact for external partners.
