To Provide leadership and management in administering, monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating Special Education and Student Services programs and services in the least restrictive environment in accordance with Federal and State Laws and guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that might be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. I. Responsibilities to school A. Provide leadership in developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising school programs and services as assigned by the Director of Special Education & Pupil Services II. Responsibilities to staff A. Supervise and evaluate classified and certificated staff as assigned by the Director of Special Education & Pupil Services B. Provide supervision, consult and information regarding laws, policies, and procedures to program specialists C. Develop and implement in service training for staff and parents D. Plan agendas and facilitate job- alike meetings for those groups assigned to the Assistant Director E. Participate in the recruitment selection and assignment of Special Education personnel and provide procedural support III. Responsibilities to students Exempt A-Basis A. Review, monitor and approve requests for the test materials, curriculum, equipment, and related special education students IV. Responsibilities to parent A. Work closely with parents and community groups in an ongoing effort to improve communication and understanding of policies, legal requirements, and activities of Special Education programs V.
