Tiffin University (TU) was founded in 1888 and offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration, criminal justice, social sciences, creative and media arts, humanities, education, sciences, technology, and health. Students can pursue associate, undergraduate, and graduate programs both on campus and online, as well as at Terra State Community College. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Tiffin University is currently seeking a highly experienced and influential individual to serve as the Assistant/Associate Dean of Global and International Education. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee The TU Global Education Area, which is responsible for marketing, recruiting, and processing international admissions. Additionally, the Assistant/Associate Dean will advise international students and manage and coordinate all education abroad initiatives, international partnerships, and Global Learning Sites. This position plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing the University's global and international education strategy.
This role will be accountable to the Vice President of Enrollment and Recruitment Strategy and will act as the primary officer for global learning and international education. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing the university's objectives and priorities for global learning and international education, supervising its growth and development, managing personnel, overseeing the admission process for international students for all University programs, budget, and policies, and enhancing the experience for faculty, students, and staff.
The Assistant/Associate Dean of Global and International Education will be crucial in guiding and overseeing the university's international initiatives. They will be responsible for expanding and shaping our global programs, promoting cross-cultural understanding among students and faculty, and fostering a culture of international awareness. The role also involves overseeing the development and implementation of these initiatives.

- Oversee budget planning and achieve financial targets for international programs while ensuring efficient and effective allocation of resources to attain program goals.
- Direct and supervise the enrollment and admission process for all international students on-campus, online, and abroad at global learning locations and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to international programs, including SEVIS compliance, health and safety protocols, and travel advisories.
- Develops, implements, and maintains institutional policies around immigration compliance
- Responds to escalated and/or emergency situations involving international students
Requirements
- Due to federal database access requirements, only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents may apply for this position.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Master's degree in administration, education, international education, or higher education administration preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in academic administration required. Significant and progressive administrative and management experience including, but not limited to, personnel management, budget management, program analysis, and reporting. Significant and progressive experience and knowledge of best practices in one or more of the International Student Services Office's primary areas of responsibilities (e.g., international student recruiting and admissions, international student services, exchange programs, visa issuance, etc.).
- Demonstratable experience in increasing international enrollment within higher educational institutions.
- Strong knowledge of global trends, best practices, and emerging issues in international education, cultural competency, and intercultural communication.
- Experience in developing and managing international partnerships and exchange programs.
- Prior experience with managing international student internships and career placement.
- Excellent leadership abilities and track record of effectively managing and motivating teams.
- Proficiency in a second language is desired.
- Human relations and demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.
- Experience serving as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and provides oversight of visa and immigration SEVIS processes and services for F-1 international student.
- Experience as the Responsible Officer (RO) and provides oversight of visa and immigration SEVIS processes and services for J-1 students and scholars.
- Working knowledge of Admission and Financial Aid service and program information.
- Knowledge of retention issues and the use of technology in the recruitment process.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to travel in a challenging environment are required.
- Demonstrated experience in working with diverse and international populations and the ability to read, comprehend, and apply complex regulations and convey them to others. Solid knowledge of the Tiffin Universities mission and its community.
- Maintains the ability to receive and carry out direction with high ethical and professional standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.

- Proficiency in personal computer systems utilizing student information systems such as PeopleSoft, Slate CRM, word processing, spreadsheets, and power points.
- Knowledge of USCIS federal regulations, SEVIS-related processes, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain a prominent level of accuracy and careful attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple short-term and long-term tasks and to exercise good judgment in stressful situations.
