POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, manages the recruitment process with an emphasis on diversity recruitment, and events coordination, for the T.H. Chan School of Medicine's Office of Admissions.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the recruitment process and promote the T. H. Chan School of Medicine at various in-person and virtual events, including but not limited to college and professional school fairs, college/university campus visits, and fairs associated with professional organizations, with an emphasis on recruiting populations underrepresented in Medicine
- Identify colleges and universities, both local and national utilizing data, with whom to establish relationships, and coordinate visits and programs, both virtual and in-person, to promote the T. H. Chan School of Medicine
- Oversee the process for organizing events related to Admissions such as Second Look Day, open houses, and diversity visit days, as well as virtual information sessions and webinars in collaboration with admissions staff, faculty, and medical student volunteers
- Track and report on recruitment activities, and assist the Director of Admissions in strategizing best practices for recruiting a diverse class
- Assist the Program Manager - Admissions Operations, and the Office of Communications Admissions liaison with marketing of T. H. Chan School of Medicine events through email and social media avenues
- Assist pre-health advisors, prospective applicants, and other external and internal stakeholders with inquiries regarding the T.H. Chan School of Medicine
- Participate in admissions events such as the Multiple Mini Interview
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
- 4+ years' higher education admissions and recruiting experience or related experience
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with applicants from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with development and implementation of higher education recruitment strategies and a strong understanding of enrollment management processes
- Ability and willingness to travel within and outside Massachusetts for recruitment purposes
- Valid driver's license
- Data analysis, data management and data reporting skills
- Knowledge of or experience with various technological platforms such as PeopleSoft, Hootsuite, SalesForce and Slate, or the ability to learn to effectively use new technology
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to pivot with changing priorities
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with external constituents, prospects and applicants, fellow staff, and differing levels of administrators
- Ability and willingness to work hours outside normal business on occasion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of university and college academic policies, financial aid policies, academic records, medical school entrance procedures, and available student resources
- Experience with Admissions events planning
- Experience working with constituents looking into graduate or professional programs
