The purpose of this position is to assist international and immigrant students with program development, advisement, interpretation and implementation of CCBC policies and procedures.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Bachelor's degree required, degree in education, international studies or counseling and Master's degree preferred. Three (3) years of International Student Services experience in higher education required, in a community college setting preferred. Experience helping international and immigrant students transition into a college setting. Academic advising preferred. Proficient in all Microsoft Office software and applications.
  • Provide academic and immigration advisement.
  • Maintain department and student records and files.
  • Create, coordinate and conduct innovative workshops and presentations using the latest technology, as required.
  • Serve on departmental, division and college-wide committees
  • Prepare, analyze and provide reports

  • Provide post-admission Student and Exchange Visitor information System (SEVIS) recordkeeping and reports to ensure federal compliance.
  • Adhere to CCBC policies and procedures to ensure federal and state compliance
  • Provide outstanding service to students and other internal and external customers.
  • Recruit future graduates, both international and domestic to educational opportunities offered by the College.
  • Provide pre-admission immigration counseling and academic advisement.
  • Process international admission intake documentation.
  • Co-advise the International Club (Catonsville) or English Conversation Club (Essex), including planning special events and activities.
  • Participate in the implementation of college-wide enrollment and retention initiatives for international and immigrant students
