PURPOSE: Leads in the implementation of best practices in the areas of school counseling, student support, social emotional learning and other related factors to promote student learning and success. The Student Services Program Coordinator will help analyze academic, behavioral and social/emotional issues that are impacting student achievement and then, in coordination with a wide variety of stakeholders, develop processes, protocols and initiatives that are implemented by School Counselors, The Stronger Connections Grant and others to improve student behavior, progress and achievement while reducing negative behavior, absences and academic challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree
Skill/Experience Requirements:
Three (3) to Five (5) years related professional experience as a School Counselor, in a K- 12 environment, preferred. Two (2) years in a leadership role, preferred
Grant, writing, implementation, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation, preferred
Ability to implement, review, report and evaluate grant strategies
Ability to coordinate, develop and provide professional development for staff
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
Self-motivated and detailed oriented
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals
Knowledge of school counseling practices and procedures
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies related to exceptional education, 504 and the SST process
Knowledge of SEL and positive behavior support and intervention programs
Ability to effectively direct, plan, implement and evaluate programs in a school-based environment
Ability to interpret policy and procedures
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing initiatives and work environment/expectations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Services Program Coordinator must collaborate with district and campus staff to implement district-wide initiatives, to assist with the oversight, implementation monitoring and evaluation of the Stronger Connections Grant, as well as identify effective school counseling programs, and provide resources, support and training Assist campus administrators with evaluation and written documentation for the Stronger Connections Grant, counseling program and services
Assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures
Provide leadership for the integration of school counseling programs and services with
current PK-12 curriculum at individual buildings related to college and career readiness and social and emotional learning
Assist in the oversight of areas related to Student Services and School Counselors, such as Homebound Education, 504, implementation of counseling and guidance curriculum, review of behavior and academic data
Assist in the identification of At-Risk students and ensuring student needs are being met through the monitoring of supports being provided
Builds partnerships, provides training, conducts analyses, and continues the continuous loop of improvement
Provide resources, support and assistance to campus staff in areas related to Student Services and School Counseling
Provide professional development in the areas related to Student Services based on identified need and campus request
Collaborate with community agencies and businesses to establish working relationships in order to provide resources and services for campuses, students and families Other duties as assigned

Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds);
Environment: Work inside, may work outside
Frequent travel between all district facilities
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hours
