Job Details:

Mercer University is searching for an Admissions Counselor on the Atlanta, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

The person responsible for the recruitment and admissions of working adult students into undergraduate programs offered by the College of Education, College of Professional Advancement and the School of Business for the Atlanta Campus, Regional Academic Centers (RAC) and Distance Learning. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment travel, inquiry development, student interviewing, professional presentations, and correspondence. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, RAC, this person works regularly with the Marketing and Communications for ATL/RAC, all Academic Program Directors, as well as staff members engaged in admissions, alumni and development, and career service functions.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. A degree in business, marketing, leadership, counseling, or education is preferred. Prior experience working with adult student recruitment/admissions is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, including written, phone, and face to face interactions, are essential. The successful candidate must have the ability to use Microsoft Office to maintain accurate prospect database.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license as this position involves some travel.

  • Understanding the specific needs of working adult students.
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking).
  • Planning, organizing and management skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of recruitment, admissions and financial aid.
