Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Film Production- Film & Media Arts (UAC)

The Department of Film & Media Arts seeks to hire an assistant professor (lecturer) of film production to teach on the University of Utah's Asia Campus (UAC ) in Incheon, Korea. The successful candidate will have broad experience with multiple facets of film production; a record of ongoing creative work, evidence of which may include professional credits and festival screenings; and experience teaching beginning and intermediate film production and post-production courses at the college level. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with experience teaching introductory courses in film analysis and history.

Film & Media Arts is the largest program on the U's Asia Campus, with five full-time faculty serving over 150 undergraduate majors. Along with Ghent University, George Mason University, and Stony Brook University (SUNY ), the University of Utah is one of the founding institutions of the Incheon Global Campus (IGC ). All UAC students spend three years studying in South Korea and one year studying on the main campus in Salt Lake City. All graduating students at UAC receive a University of Utah degree.

This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position that requires relocation to South Korea. The appointment will be for the 2024-2025 academic year and is renewable upon review. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must eligible for a work visa for South Korea.
Salary is commensurate with experience. All full-time employees are provided a health benefit plan. Housing is provided for UAC employees with an E-1 or a F-4 Korean Visa. Some personal and professional travel expenses are provided by the UAC .

Required qualifications

• M.F.A. or other terminal degree in film production or a related field
• Evidence of successful college-level teaching in film production
• Ability to teach introductory digital film production and intermediate courses in areas like
• cinematography, editing, and sound (production and post-production).
• An active record of creative work, evidence of which may include professional credits and
• festival exhibitions
