Duties and Responsibilities
- *Serves as the William S. Richardson School of Law Director of Enrollment Management.
- *Establishes and implements short and long-range strategic marketing and recruitment goals, objectives, plans, policies, and operating procedures for JD and LL.M programs.
- *Monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement and in support of the Law School's academic mission and tuition revenue goals.
- *Designs, develops, and implements a comprehensive, strategic recruitment plan for the Law School's JD and LL.M programs in collaboration with key law school and campus constituents.
- *Trains, supervises, evaluates, and provides professional development opportunities for staff members to increase productivity and employee performance.
- *Reviews problem situations as necessary and exercise professional advice and decisions based on policies and procedures.
- *Collects and analyzes data to evaluate current recruitment strategies at the School of Law JD and LL.M programs. Make recommendations to Senior Administrators regarding recruitment and enrollment practices.
- *Represents the office in a variety of internal and external situations involving policy and procedural matters related to recruitment.
- *Represents the Law School at recruitment events across the country, with the goal of attracting a highly qualified and diverse applicant pool.
- *Bolster the Law School's accreditation by the American Bar Association (ABA) and the American Association of Law Schools (AALS).
- *Collaborates in the design and development of collateral materials used in student recruitment activities for the School of Law.
- *Develops programs and creative initiatives to appropriately engage senior administrators, faculty, staff, current students, and alumni to participate in the recruitment and enrollment of graduate students.
- *Coordinates and collaborates with Academic Deans, and Program Directors in developing the Law School's JD and LL.M recruitment framework for the purpose of developing positive working relationships and building community.
- *Actively participates in Law School's faculty Admissions Committees with respect to JD and LL.M admissions and enrollment management decisions.
- *Counsels and advises students, faculty, and the general public regarding admissions policies and practices.
- *Manages the annual budget for JD and LL.M recruitment to meet organizational goals and provide for efficient management of resources.
- *Prepares reports, proposals, position papers, and other documents relating to recruitment for external and internal review and decision-making as requested by the Dean.
- *Ensures compliance with LSAC, ABA, Law School, and University best practices, standards, and policies for admissions and enrollment management.
- *Travels to various geographical locations across Oahu, neighbor islands, country, or foreign countries for visitations, presentations, or college fairs.
- *Lifts or carries exhibit or other materials for visitations, presentations, or college fairs.
- *Works outside of normal scheduled hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in education, counseling, social sciences, or related field and 6 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for student admissions/recruitment or student services in higher education; or equivalent education/training or experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated.
Desirable Qualifications
- Juris Doctor or Master's degree in educational administration/counseling, social sciences, or related field.
- Knowledge of ABA-accredited Law School programs and organizations, their purposes, and functions.
- Knowledge of policies and regulations of ABA-accredited Law Schools as applied to the recruitment of students, including awareness of DEI best practices.
- Demonstrated success in all areas of enrollment management (recruitment, retention, matriculation, bar passage, etc.) within an ABA-accredited law school.
Supplemental Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of law school enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, and ethical practices typical of an institution in higher education.
- Knowledge of the systems, methods, materials, and techniques used in marketing and promotion as it relates to student recruitment typical of an institution of higher education. Demonstrated ability to administer and coordinate law school enrollment management programs.
- Ability to engage in travel off island, including neighbor islands, mainland, and foreign countries, several times a year for purposes including visitations, presentations, and college fairs.
- Ability to drive safely/responsibly/independently to various locations in a timely manner. Requirement may be fulfilled by a valid Hawai'i driver's license (Class B), comparable driver's license, or other means of transportation which meet office needs.
- Ability to work outside normally scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability of lift and carry up to 30 pounds independently or with assistance. Ability to deal tactfully but firmly with others.
- Extensive experience working with students, faculty, and administrators in both secondary and higher education.
