Job Title: Student Services Coordinator

Primary Objective:
  • Assists the Director of Student Services in the supervision and implementation of special education programs and services and assist with appropriate placement of students with IEPs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Appropriately licensed/certified by the Illinois State Board of Education
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Extensive knowledge of Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS), the Illinois State Standards, and Eligibility/Entitlement of Special Education Services.

Accountable to:
  • Director of Student Services

Essential Job Functions:
Facilitate creation of annual building meeting schedule (Evaluation/Reevaluation/Domain/AR) compliant with legally mandated timelines for the school year in all buildings Assist Director with disseminating/coaching staff on district procedures and expectations for professional practice Assist Director in the planning & facilitating of student services department meetings, monthly building meetings and all related services department meetings (Psych, SLP, SW, OT) Non-Public/Private/Parochial/Homeschool Liaison: attend student domain, evaluation and ISP meetings Coordinate Homebound Instruction for students Supervision and evaluation of licensed employees Support the PFA/EC program (procedures, staff meetings, etc.) Assist in providing job embedded training and coaching supports for staff to increase the percentage of legally defensible IEPs written and to ensure consistent implementation of department procedures Assist with Section 504 Plan training and support buildings with implementation of legally defensible practices Attend Tier 3 (ISA) meetings in the buildings for students being considered for referral to special education Provide support/coaching for staff in assessment/curriculum/instruction for special education department Assist Director and building administration with the recruitment and training of staff Assist Director with the development, implementation and evaluation of the annual department Professional Development including early release and Institute Days Assist Director in the development and delivery of Student Services New Staff Orientation Plan/Execute monthly trainings for paraprofessionals Attend Professional Development Other duties assigned

Requirements:
  • Bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 30 lbs.

Terms of Employment:
  • 10 month salaried
