It is one of five campuses constituting the Historically Black Southern University System. Position Summary:
The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management is the senior executive in the Division of Student Affairs. He/she is responsible for the overall management, planning, administration, and evaluation of the Division's programs, services, personnel, policies, and budget, and for aligning student services to student success goals and initiatives.
The Vice Chancellor is a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet & Chancellor's Leadership Team. Providing overarching leadership management and budgetary responsibility for the division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management. The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (VCSA & EM) is responsible for articulating the vision and ensuring divisional objectives align with the University's mission and goals. The VCSA & EM leads a collaborative team and has strategic oversight for admissions, recruitment, financial aid, residential life/student housing & dining services, student activities, student leadership, student conduct, student advocacy services, student health services, student media, athletics, and counseling services. The VCSA & EM will work closely with the Office of Academic Affairs to support student success initiatives and remain compliant with state and federal mandates.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in strategic enrollment management and the ability to effectively support the strategic enrollment management plan. Regularly review progress toward the goals of the strategic enrollment plan, ensuring that the division's human and financial resources are deployed effectively and efficiently to achieve tactical and operational goals; analyze, evaluate, and report data in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness related to the enrollment plan and initiatives, and adjust strategies based on that analysis; recommend resource allocation strategies to achieve goals
- Develop and implement measures and methodology for determining the effectiveness and efficiency of the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Division.
- Actively work to attract, serve and retain a culturally diverse student body comprised of residential and commuter undergraduate students and non-traditional students
- Work with admissions to ensure that the first impressions prospective students have of the University are first-rate and high-touch; campus contacts and visits need to be of the highest possible caliber, balancing student volunteer, and staff involvement to deliver accurate information, create prospective student attachment and optimize yield
- Work to ensure seamless, customer-centered handling of issues that arise with regard to admissions, financial aid, and student success balancing high touch with technological solutions as appropriate
- Develop and update the college's Student Affairs Strategic Plans and assures their integration with other major planning efforts within the university
- Develop the budget for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Provide fiscal management, including the budget analysis, preparation, defense and management of the various operating budgets and numerous subsidiary budgets
- Supervise and manage Student grievance and appeals process (non-academic)
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; coordinate the work assignments of assigned personnel; review work to assure compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures
- Conducts periodic evaluations of programs, services and procedures and policies to ensure Student Affairs and Enrollment Management functions are effective, innovative, proactive, anticipatory and responsive to the student and community needs
- In coordination with the Chancellor and the Executive Team, participate in the development of rules, regulations, procedures, and policies applicable to Student Affairs & Enrollment Management
- Maintain knowledge of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management trends, practices, laws and regulations (including Title V, Title VII and Title IX)
- Monitor Student Affairs website pages to remain current and ensure accuracy
- Establish procedures for Academic and Student record retention and disposal
- Develop and maintain external relationships, including, but not limited to prospective students, parents, high school counselors and principals, school board members and community superintendents, and social Student service Affairs personnel agencies/organizations, at other postsecondary business and industry institutions, partners, Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Workforce Commission and the State of Louisiana Board of Regents
- Knowledge of NJCAA eligibility rules and compliance. Best practices in athletic and implementation Intercollegiate athletic leadership including supervision of coaching and professional staff. Athletic sporting programs with respect to planning, equipment, compliance issues, and facility needs
- Occasional evening, weekend work and overnight travel is required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Ten or more years of increasingly responsible administrative experience at or above the Dean's or Director's level (or equivalent) in Student Affairs or Enrollment Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, in Student Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students, colleagues and partners
- Eligibility for a Louisiana Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university
- Five or more years of increasingly responsible administrative experience at or above the Dean's or Director's level (or equivalent) in Student Affairs
- Working experience with Ellucian' s Banner or other major student information system
- Organizational and managerial skills with respect to complex, sensitive issues
