Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee transition services for students at Newmark K-8 School and Newmark High School. Interface with businesses, agencies, and educational professionals to achieve transition goals. Facilitate the achievement of desired post-school and post-Newmark outcomes for all students. Coordinate the school admissions process including outreach to school districts. Coordinate the Admissions Program and develop new initiatives and student needs change over time.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Maintain excellent attendance and adherence to contractual work schedules. Take primary responsibility for all aspects of transition services, including participating in IEP and transition meetings, conducting 8th grade IEP meetings, developing transition plans, implementing transition plans, coordinating supported work programs, and supervising standardized tests. Interact with staff, parents, and outside agencies to facilitate transition program goals. Administer school activities to promote post-secondary opportunities, including supervising and implementing testing programs and coordinating alumni outreach efforts. Assume primary administrative and supervisory responsibility for all school admissions of new students and maintaining relevant statistics on admissions and re-enrollment programs. Develop admissions protocols and Newmark student profile for targeting admissions program. Present to prospective parents an school districts on Newmark programs. Undertake additional responsibilities promoting student welfare and safety, including assisting with transportation and lunchtime supervision of students. Be well-versed in social decision-making, problem-solving curriculum, social thinking curriculum, and social-emotional programs at the school. Participate in professional development programs and stay updated on the latest educational and behavioral strategies. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Collaborate with other professional staff members to elicit the best from students. Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Principal.
