Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master's degree in a job‑related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
  • Education:
    • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job‑related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • License
    • Valid CA Driver's License

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills, demonstrate professional demeanor, and possess strong organization skills.
    • Ability to connect with prospective students and their families, educational recruiters, and in-market partners in ways that build productive and lasting relationships is imperative.
    • The ability to present a comprehensive and complex portfolio of educational opportunities and the ability to illuminate and explain complex concepts associated with admission to the CSU and around concepts of affordability.
    • Demonstrated sensitivity to cross-cultural perspectives and experience working with staff and students of color, underrepresented populations, different socioeconomic statuses, gender identities and/or students with disabilities.
    • Interact in a caring manner with potential students, parents, high school, and community colleges staff on a one-on-one basis and in group settings.
    • Must have the ability to rapidly gain a general knowledge of the overall operation, functions, and programs of Cal Poly Humboldt.
    • Must be available to work outside of the regular business hours such as weekends and evenings.
    • Ability to perform standard office duties.
    • Experience and proficiency with personal computers; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database software, Internet, and e-mail.
    • Willingness to learn and apply new software.
