The Director of Recruitment, Admissions and Financial Aid leads the Office of Recruitment, Admissions and Financial Aid (RAFA) at Boston University's Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive and strategic enrollment plans that result in the college meeting or exceeding annual enrollment targets for an increasingly diverse and growing student body. The Director of RAFA reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Executive Affairs, oversees a staff of three fulltime team members plus additional graduate students, and manages a budget of roughly $300,000 for operational expenses and up to four million in financial aid.

Required Skills

Master's Degree, Higher Education degree preferred. 5 plus years of related experience. Professional Competencies Include:
  • Proven experience in enrollment management, admissions, or financial aid within a higher education setting, preference for experience within the education field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with students, faculty, and external partners. Demonstrated success working with individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds and cultures, including a strong equity and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion and an understanding of best practices in this area.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to deal successfully with multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs and regulations.
  • Strategic planning abilities and a proactive approach to achieving enrollment goals.
  • Budget management experience.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to the College's guidestar.
