Job Summary
THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY! YOU MUST CHECK WITH FINANCIAL AID TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY.
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Student Assistant for Graphic Design will serve as a member of the Division of Student Affairs Student Assistant Promotions team. The primary duties are creation of videos and photos that promote awareness of initiatives and services, documents student engagement activities and increases student participation at division events. The SA must attend various campus events as needed to take photos and videos. The student assistant (SA)will be required to meet regularly with the VPSA and division staff to ascertain needs and develop weekly, monthly and semester schedules.
Write, film and produce promotional videos for departments in Student Affairs.
Film events in progress, interview participants and post Student Affairs social media.
Take still photography throughout the division and at events.
Meet regularly with the VPSA (Vice President for Student Affairs) and meet as needed with division staff as directed by the VPSA
Assist with promotion of upcoming events
Assist other members of the Student Affairs Promotions Team with design, strategy, assistance in promoting division events and document student engagement on campus.
Provide coverage in the VPSA office when needed
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Skills Required
*Advanced knowledge of film editing software.
*Knowledge of photo editing software such as Canva or Photoshop.
Qualifications
Full-time student. Any major considered, but majors in Communication Studies, Marketing, Film Production, and English are especially suitable for this position.
Minimum GPA of 2.5; Junior, senior or graduate student.
Ability to interact positively and professionally with students, faculty, staff and campus visitors
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in videography and/or photography is required. Candidate must provide samples of previous work and provide references attesting to their skill.
Experience with posting to social media is desirable.
Creative writing and business writing skills desirable.
Experience in graphic design and social media marketing desirable
Effective time and work flow management skills
Must be available to work nights and weekends.
Must provide own camera and video equipment.
