The International Admissions Counselor will be responsible for recruiting and evaluating international undergraduate applicants, providing guidance and support throughout the admissions process, and contributing to the overall international student enrollment goals. The International Admissions Counselor collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to implement effective recruitment strategies, assess international credentials, and ensure a seamless transition for admitted international students.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure:

The primary responsibilities are, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies with the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and other team members to attract highly qualified international undergraduate students. This includes identifying target markets, attending international recruitment events, visiting schools and colleges, and establishing relationships with international partners.
- Review and evaluate international undergraduate applications in a holistic manner, considering academic records, standardized test scores, personal statements, recommendation letters, and other relevant materials to make informed admissions decisions.
- Provide guidance and support to prospective international students throughout the admissions process, including advising on application requirements, deadlines, visa procedures, and financial aid options.
- Assess international educational credentials, including transcripts and grading systems, to determine their equivalency to the U.S. educational system.
- Work closely with various teams across campus to ensure a seamless and efficient admissions process for international students, including the coordination of interviews, campus visits, and information sessions.
- Represent Stevens Institute of Technology at international recruitment events, college fairs, and information sessions both domestically and internationally. Contribute to the development of marketing materials and digital content targeted towards prospective international students.
- Collaborate with various offices on campus, such as International Student and Scholar Services and Student Life, to provide support services for admitted international students, including pre-arrival information, orientation programs, and ongoing advising.
- Stay informed about immigration regulations and requirements affecting international students and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Collect and analyze data related to international student recruitment and enrollment trends. Prepare reports and presentations to inform strategic decision-making and support departmental goals.
- Stay abreast of trends and best practices in international student recruitment and admissions, including market conditions, educational systems, and cultural considerations.
- Maintain compliance and adherence to all regulations and policies for recruitment, admissions, and financial aid within higher education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in international admissions or related field within higher education.
- Comprehensive understanding of international student recruitment strategies, admissions processes, and educational systems around the world.
- Knowledge of immigration regulations affecting international students in the U.S.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse populations, including prospective students, parents, international partners, and campus stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using admissions management systems (Slate), CRM tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and data management skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data effectively.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for recruitment purposes.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and as necessary to assist with on-campus/virtual events as well as recruiting duties off campus in non-standard work hours.
- Fluency in one or more foreign languages is preferred.
- Passion for international education and a commitment to promoting diversity and global perspectives in the student body.
