Position: Adjunct Instructor - International Management

Department: Lundy Fetterman School of Business

Status: Part Time

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business seeks an adjunct instructor for the Fall 2024 semester to teach one section of MGMT 440 International Management. First preference is face to face instruction on our main campus in Buies Creek. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 22-December 10; from 8-9:20 a.m. Secondary preference is synchronous online instruction via Zoom. If instructor is not available for synchronous instruction, asynchronous online delivery will be considered.

Position Summary:

The Adjunct Instructor of International Management will work in the School of Business instructing management and related curriculum. This course emphasizes operating across borders to deal with the following forces and issues in a global operating environment: product and service development, new competition, distribution challenges, macroeconomics and socioeconomic uncertainty, financial variables, legal differences, labor issues, a different political environment, and sociocultural-based management issues. Teaching experience, commitment to excellence, innovation in undergraduate teaching, and an appreciation for the broad intellectual community of an excellent Business School is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives. Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and selected textbook provided by the department chair. Administer tests, assignments and other exercises that permit measurement of knowledge, abilities, and/or performance relative to the course learning objectives. Post grades in Blackboard as well as Campbell's Self Service portal. Maintain timely communications with students and staff at all times. Interact with students in a positive manner, listen effectively, field questions pertaining to subject matter. Assess participation and performance of students. Administer exams according to university guidelines. Complete student record keeping in a timely and accurate manner. Participate in departmental, faculty and staff meetings as requested. Exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, and Information Security including FERPA, and other state and federal regulations. Education/Experience: MBA in international, business, or a related field Terminal degree (PhD) preferred, but not required. Relevant professional work experience College or University level teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology. Proficiency with Microsoft and common methods of digital communication including social media platforms. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with, faculty, staff, students, university officials and the public. Exercise independent judgement and maintain strict confidentiality as necessary. Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people. This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University
