This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Student Services and Outreach Representative who will be all-in on our mission and who will advise students regarding degree requirements, testing requirements, financial aid/scholarships, career options, employment possibilities, and transfer options.
Requirements
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field
Preferred: Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Three (3) years of experience working in advising, student outreach, counseling, education or related field.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist students in registration process utilizing AC institutional software.
Develop and execute activities to recruit and retain students.
Provide new student orientation, cultural activities, student activities and support student clubs.
Participate in all MCC activities including department meetings, career days, Badger Beginnings, Early Alert, Ambassador and mentoring program.
Coordinate career planning services and transition support for students in the QUEST (Quality Education for Students) program including events for both high school and college QUEST students.
Develop and execute outreach events in the community and advertise using various media, website, and Facebook. Attend college recruitment days.
Utilize the Aviso/Watermark software to help with retention of students in success coaching.
Assist with data collection, advising, recruiting, financial aid tracking, and work to coordinate student events.
Coordinate the JBS Better Futures Program in recruiting students, visitation to the plants, and record keeping.

Ability to create and maintain a warm and welcoming office and campus environment.
Knowledge of college and department policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations.
Commitment to discretion and confidentiality concerning sensitive information.

Salary: , Pay grade 10 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
