ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
That of an Admissions Counselor including but not limited to:
Lead for Diversity and Equity initiative including but not limited to:
Sit on the President's Diversity Council
Create and facilitate training presentations for HS guidance counselors and ENL Programs
Liaison for Family Partnership HSE and ESL program
Present to all ESL students about continuing education options at DCC.
Represent DCC at districts where there is a high volume of traditionally underrepresented students.
Identify and attend College fairs and Expos that serve traditionally underrepresented minorities including but not limited to
Liaison for DCC programs
Develop and implement NYC recruitment in collaboration with EOP and Housing
Foster and develop working relationships with NYC partner schools.
Coordinate programing with SUNY NYC recruitment center, including presentations and SUNY bus trip.
Lead mentorship/student support program for underrepresented population (in collaboration with Academic Housing and EOP

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
That of an Admissions Counselor including but not limited to:
- Representative for Dutchess Community College at college fairs, high school visits, and a variety of other on- and off- campus recruitment and community events.
- Maintain a broad knowledge base about all facets of DCC to effectively communicate the benefits and features of our academic programs, facilities {all campuses), support services, athletics, student life, housing opportunities, and basic financial aid information.
- Serve as a public speaker, and a panelist at area high school and community programs, and talk one-on-one with prospective students and families about DCC admissions, the community college experience, and the student experience.
- Assist the Director of Admissions in all major admissions events.
- Serve as a supervisor for office student workers.
Lead for Diversity and Equity initiative including but not limited to:
Sit on the President's Diversity Council
- Lead the Applewood scholarship committee.
- Lead the consortium for undocumented students.
Create and facilitate training presentations for HS guidance counselors and ENL Programs
- NYS Dream Act Training
- ESL/ENL support
Liaison for Family Partnership HSE and ESL program
Present to all ESL students about continuing education options at DCC.
Represent DCC at districts where there is a high volume of traditionally underrepresented students.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of admissions or related experience in an education setting
- Ability to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Proven experience working with diverse groups and a demonstrated ability to establish relationships with a variety of constituencies including immigrant populations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in student recruitment, education marketing, sales, or public relations
- Experience in planning events
- Master's Degree, preferably in higher education or counseling
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish is a prerequisite for this position.
- Flexible hours required; some travel will be necessary.
