Essential Job Functions: Program Director duties:

Guides and directs the faculty, staff and students in the development, promotion, and delivery of the College of Dental Medicine's academic programs.

Directs the short-term and long-range plans and budgets for the Tampa Bay - Clearwater, College of Dental Medicine, subject to approval by the Dean and Chancellor.

Dispenses advice, guidance, direction and authorization to carry out plans and procedures, consistent with established policies by approval of the Dean and Chancellor.

Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications between the Tampa Bay - Clearwater CDM and the main CDM location in Fort Lauderdale/Davie.

Evaluates the results of the Tampa Bay CDM operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Dean.

Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

Ensures that all college activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing college operations in concert with the Dean.

Represents the college with business and professional organizations as well as with potential students and the public at the direction of the Dean.

Assures effective collaborative teaching and research with the main campus.

Works intimately with the Dean to assure a "one campus" environment.

Teaches College of Dental Medicine courses in the classroom or in small group discussion or laboratory as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Clinic Director duties:

Oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of the CDM.

Partners with the VP for NSU Health for NSU, the Dean for Clinical Services and other NSU colleges to identify areas of improved efficiency and effectiveness for the dental clinical education program.

Supports, develops and enhances the Team Leader Comprehensive Care clinical education model.

Works closely with the department chairs to develop and implement the clinical curriculum.

Works with DCO in developing and managing the budget for areas of responsibility and addresses billing issues.

Oversees faculty and staff within assigned areas of responsibility and provides guidance.

Interacts with faculty, staff, students, the billing office, and PMCs to resolve patient issues.

Monitors student progress and achievement within clinics.

Director of Implants duties:

Oversees Predoc implant program at Tampa Bay/Clearwater Campus.

Manages D3-D4 benchmarks and cases at Tampa Bay/Clearwater Campus.

Oversees inventory management for implant supplies at Tampa Bay/Clearwater Campus.

Service & Professional Development:

Actively identifies opportunities and provides service relating to fields of expertise for the benefit of internal and external communities.

Participate in state and/or local community service that is a recognized form of career development.

Other Assigned Duties

Collaborates with staff and colleagues to address teaching and research issues, and to improve students' learning experiences.

Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.

Mentors' junior and adjunct faculty members.

Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.

Performs other duties as assigned or required. Marginal Job Functions: 1. Supervises faculty and support staff at the Tampa Bay Regional Campus.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Tampa Bay Regional Campus faculty.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, under the direction of the Dean. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:

Knowledge of higher education academic, clinical, research, and administration best practices.

Dental Medicine - Advanced knowledge of the information and techniques needed in Dental Medicine. This includes symptoms and treatment planning.

Education and Training - Advanced knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Customer Service - General knowledge of principles/processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
