Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring a Student Services Analyst to support the Outreach and Early College Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for using a case management approach, conducting open houses and recruitment activities, advising students on goal setting, occupational degree, and certificate options, transfer pathways, course selection, testing (placement and programmatic), registration, academic progress and satisfactory progress toward certificate/degree using PeopleSoft (SIS) and other technology. This position will be responsible for the tracking and data management of prospective students utilizing our Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform to show progress toward goals, will prepare narrative and data reports to track outcomes and achievements, and related duties as assigned.
Please note this position has a July 1, 2024 start date.
Essential Functions
60% - Coordinates and implements a college recruitment and enrollment program which includes building relationships with high school students, parents and high school personnel to provide services that increase EMCC enrollment using various outreach methods including in person contact and CRM contact methods; important activities related to successful recruitment include administering and interpreting career assessments, college academic advisement, pre-college placement testing, admission and enrollment assistance and financial aid guidance; delivers educational planning in small and large group settings; provides information to high school students regarding Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) academic degree and certificate programs and early college programs (Dual Enrollment, Concurrent Enrollment, ACE); performs appropriate admissions and registration functions while maintaining compliance regulation, policies, and accreditation; guides students to supplemental support resources to increase their preparation for college-level coursework upon enrollment; maintains knowledge of a wide variety of information sources such as: web sites, printed materials, e-mail and Maricopa and university transfer agreements; collects and interprets data to make informed program decisions, monitors students' progress through the enrollment process, and generates progress to goal reports.
20% - Develop and maintain relationships and coordination with EMCC marketing department, academic department chairs, specialty program coordinators, occupational program directors, Student Affairs departments, and other key leadership to develop a thorough understanding of the college culture, programs, services, and business processes; utilizes this understanding to fully provide a one-stop service and assist potential students to fully understand and choose program options; establishes and maintains relationships with high school and school district personnel, community-based organizations, business/industry partners, and other key external stakeholders.
10% - Works strategically with the Career and Educational Planning department to successfully transition students from Early College Programs and/or high school to their Field of Interest Advisor at EMCC. Provides information to students regarding Arizona transfer pathways and transfer resources and information on Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) programs, policies and procedures.
10% - Attends departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities; performs other duties as assigned at various EMCC locations commensurate to the grade level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
OR
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree
One (1) or more years of experience providing academic or career advising, working with high school students, or working in student services in a college or university setting
One (1) year experience working in an environment with student services procedures including, admissions and records/registration, or online Student Information System (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.) and working with federal and state requirements (e.g., lawful presence/residency determination, FERPA, etc.)
One (1) year experience working with a Customer Relations Management tool to track enrollment progress and matriculation
One (1) year experience working with federal and state requirements/compliance (e.g., lawful presence/residency determination, FERPA, etc.)
One (1) year of experience delivering presentations to large groups
One (1) year experience working with cohorts of students and identifying and implementing student success strategies to support persistence, retention, and completion.
