Position Summary:
The Study Abroad Program Development Assistant will play a key role in researching, designing, and promoting study abroad programs for MIU. By supporting the Asian Expansion department, this position aims to foster international partnerships, enhance the university's global presence, and provide students with enriching educational experiences abroad.

Supervisor: Yunxiang Zhu, Professor of Business Administration and Vice President of Asian Expansion at MIU
Yunxiang Zhu initiated the very first university-level educational collaboration for MIU with a top Chinese university in early 2000. This collaboration was approved by the Ministry of Education of China. The approval has enabled MIU to teach its credited courses in China and offer its bachelor's degrees in business administration as well as computer science accordingly. As a result of this collaboration, MIU has taught for more than 10 years in Beijing and hundreds of Chinese students were able to come to MIU's USA campus to continue their studies. In 2018, Zhu and his wife Lijuan Cai, the director of the China PhD program, initiated a new joint program for MIU with two top Chinese universities in Shanghai and Shenyang. As a result, MIU now has 113 students from China enrolled in PhD in Management Programs. Yunxiang Zhu has 10 years of working experience in Silicon Valley before he and his family moved to Fairfield and started working for MIU in 2000.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research study abroad programs offered by other universities to gather insights and best practices.
- Design MIU's own study abroad program, considering academic offerings, cultural immersion, and logistical aspects.
- Communicate with international educational partners via email, Zoom, or WeChat to establish exchange programs and partnerships.
- Promote MIU's study abroad opportunities to students through various channels, including social media, campus events, and informational sessions.
- Assist students in applying for applicable foreign government or institute scholarships to support their study abroad experiences.
- Follow up with international partners and students to ensure smooth coordination and implementation of study abroad programs.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in project management and follow-up, enhancing organizational and administrative skills.
- Strong interest in foreign studies, languages, cultures, and philosophies.
- Broad worldview and a passion for fostering global connections and understanding.
- Ability to conduct independent research with some supervision, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective outreach and collaboration.
- Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus but not required.
- Social media skills, content creation, media design (presentation, video, simple brochure layouts, skills are a plus.
