The Director of Admissions Recruitment provides direction and oversight to the Admissions Advisors and Front Office staff in implementing a successful admissions recruitment model. The Director is responsible for the development of strategies to attract, recruit, and enroll a qualified, talented, and diverse student body in a manner that supports the University's recruitment and enrollment goals.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Oversee Advisor activities with prospective students, ensuring high activity levels and successful conversion rates through use of the University's CRM platform as well as Front office support for the Admissions Department.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental and interdepartmental policies and procedures that will facilitate a holistic and equitable recruitment and admissions process. Represent the department on interdepartmental committees.
  • Serve on the Enrollment Management Leadership team to ensure that the staffing, budget, and recruitment strategic plan will, in combination, meet the new student enrollment goals of the university.
  • Manage advising team who actively recruit for Bastyr's certificate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Responsibilities include the implementation and oversight of admissions advisor expectations; conversion goals, tracking of advisor activities (advising appointments, email/phone advising, outreach). The Director sets the example of an outstanding admissions advisor and an excellent recruiter who makes connections with prospective students. The Director is responsible for advising in any program when needed and for providing ongoing training and development.
  • Collaboration with marketing to ensure connectivity between admissions recruitment and enrollment and marketing processes throughout the full pipeline of activity (e.g., top of funnel through matriculation) with prospects.
  • Advise prospective students regarding all aspects of the application/admission process, (i.e. prerequisite requirements and how prerequisites can be met at colleges/universities across the nation), how to best prepare themselves as a candidate for admission, and all other components of the admission process.
  • Accurately represent the University's ethos, environment, programs, requirements and curriculum to external groups, professional associations, and at four-year colleges, community colleges, high schools, education and career fairs, and on and off campus advising appointments and events.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Complete special projects assigned by the VP for Enrollment Services (VPES).
  • Represent the Admissions office in place of the VPES when they are unavailable (if appropriate.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies-administrators, faculty, staff and students; ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and implementing inclusive and equitable practices within the admissions process.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to draft correspondence, informational materials and reports. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with prospective students and in one-on-one and group venues. Able to make connections with individuals and with small and large groups by being personable and friendly.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills. Ability to use complex database programs to extract, integrate, and analyze data. A proven record in data and trend analysis and assessment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to organize and track information on hundreds of prospective students. Ability to "lead by influence" in working with faculty and staff to meet departmental goals.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to spot errors quickly.
  • Ability to maintain detailed contact records in a PC database and compose correspondence, reports and other documents using word processing software.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and explore, conceptualize and execute new initiatives.

Experience:
  • Three to Five years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education or customer services leadership role.
  • Five years experience in admissions, enrollment services, student services, or customer service role. Experience in graduate or professional school admissions preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in a higher education environment preferred.
  • Three to Five years' experience maximizing the use of an administrative student information system and/or CRM system.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's or professional degree preferred.
