Description of Duties:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs
Responsible for initiatives that promote, encourage, and support student success. This position provides leadership and direction in the creation, assessment and coordination of retention and student success strategies. The AVP will have direct responsibility and oversight in developing, leading, implementing and evaluating student success and retention planning. Planning will be data informed and align with the mission, vision and core values and strategic goals of the College.

Description of Duties:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs
Responsible for initiatives that promote, encourage, and support student success. This position provides leadership and direction in the creation, assessment and coordination of retention and student success strategies. The AVP will have direct responsibility and oversight in developing, leading, implementing and evaluating student success and retention planning. Planning will be data informed and align with the mission, vision and core values and strategic goals of the College.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Associate Vice of Student Affairs, provides college wide leadership, oversight, and vision for student success to advance the College's mission, vision and strategic plan.
- Develops and implements services, activities, and opportunities that complete the student's experience with the targeted outcome of increasing student persistence, retention, and graduation rates.
- Lead, coordinate, and integrate student success programs including First Year Connections, First Generation Student Programs, Student Success Center and J1 Retention to ensure continued improvement and alignment with the Divisional and College priorities.
- Assess and improves operational strategies, staff deployment, and resource utilization to ensure optimal service delivery to students.
- Develops tracking and reporting systems for collecting, analyzing and disseminating student success reports to various internal and external constituents, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provides leadership in building and maintaining systems for student success data, levering performance indicator tools, analyzing data and sharing results on a frequent and regular basis with other college constituents and plans for timely interventions.
- Supports institutional strategies to integrate student development and co-curricular learning experiences into student life.
- Provides leadership, supervision and support to the Student Success Staff.
- Collaborates with college partners to integrate student success management technology into operations.
- Develops and implements a Student Success communication plan that increases awareness of policies and practices to support student retention and success.
Requirements
- A master's degree or equivalent from an accredited academic institution in Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Higher Education Management, Student Affairs Administration or a closely related field.
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of effective strategic leadership in student success with demonstrated results and increasing levels of responsibility working in an academic setting.
- Progressive supervisory experience
