Support study abroad outreach, including giving class presentations, advising students, organizing events, writing promotional materials, creating blog content, coordinating small projects, contributing to social media content, and assisting with general office needs. Collaborate on creative projects with Study Abroad & Global Engagement outreach staff to promote study abroad. Assist students interested in studying abroad; respond to email inquiries; coordinate and prepare class presentations; maintain communication with study abroad returnees; and other duties as requested.
Required 10-15 hours per week between 9 AM and 5 PM for a minimum of one academic year based on candidate's availability during the hours listed in the preferred qualifications. Occasional evening or weekend hours as needed. Peer advisors are required to participate in Peer Advisor training the week prior to the start of the semester.

Required Qualifications
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
- Experience on a study abroad program at the University of Kansas.
- Excellent communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligible for Federal Work Study.
- Experience in an administrative role.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet and database computer software (PowerPoint, Excel).
- Availability prior to the start of the semester.
- Experience on a study abroad program for a semester or full academic year.
