DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion Career Success:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive career development program tailored specifically for international students.
- Organize workshops, career counseling sessions, and internship support programs to equip international students with essential career skills and resources.
Bridge the Gap:
- Generate awareness and excitement among international students about the resources offered by the Office of International Programs (OIP) and the Career Center.
- Collaborate with campus partners to integrate OIP and Career Center services seamlessly into international students' academic and career journeys.
Connect and Inspire:
- Cultivate relationships with alumni who were international students at SHU.
- Coordinate networking opportunities where current international students can learn from the successful journeys of alumni.
Network for Success:
- Plan and execute targeted networking events tailored to the career aspirations of international students.
- Facilitate connections between international students and professionals/alumni in their desired fields to expand their professional networks.
Be the Go-To Resource:
- Establish the OIP and Career Center as the primary destination for international students seeking career guidance and support.
- Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable seeking assistance with their academic and career needs.
Achieve Internship Excellence:
- Assist with the development of strategies to assist international students with their internship search and career opportunities.
- Offer personalized support and resources to assist students in securing internships aligned with their career interests.
Advocate and Support:
- Offer empathetic and culturally sensitive support to international students as they navigate career challenges.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Seton Hall University.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Passion for supporting the career development of international students.
- Previous experience in career services, mentorship, or event planning is preferred but not required.
