Job Responsibilities
Must have knowledge of counseling techniques, good organizational, oral and written communication skills; Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions; Ability to interpret psycho-educational evaluations. Preferred knowledge of the American with Disabilities Act- As Amended and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as these relate to students in higher education setting. Under limited supervision, will provide professional counseling services for students, enabling them to access educational opportunities, acquire information, develop attitudes, insights and understanding about themselves and others in support of their academic, career and personal growth and development. Will track and document progress of all students receiving services. Will provide interpretation of college placement tests, administration and interpretation of interest and personality inventories and use of computerized guidance systems. Will perform duties related to counseling of students and determination of need for and provision of services to students with disabilities using independence and discretion. Will coordinate the decision-making process to review documentation and determine reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Travel to all campuses of Midlands Technical College is required. May involve some evening and weekend hours on a scheduled basis.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC-1), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Prefer experience with disability services in a higher education setting and with integrated data management systems such as student database.
