The College of English Language is an accredited ESL school based in San Diego and Los Angeles, CA. Our schools cater to students’ from all over the world looking to improve their English language skills for personal, professional and academic purposes. CEL hopes that students’ experiences here have a long lasting impact on their future career and personal journeys.
We are seeking a Student Services Coordinator to become an integral part of our team! Under the supervision of Lead Student Experience Coordinators and the Head of Operations Department, the candidate will perform day to day tasks that aid in creating a welcoming and structured academic environment for all students, staff and faculty. Duties will include preparing documents for incoming and exiting students, data entry, preparing classroom curriculum for faculty, preparing exams, documenting student interactions and following up as needed, and communicating with other team members of student complaints, requests and questions. As a key part of the CEL team, the candidate will take charge of implementing the vision, mission, and core values established by the school.

Responsibilities:
- Act as first point of contact for all school inquiries
- Plan, implement and execute orientation and graduation for students weekly
- Coordinate school administration services
- Perform general administrative work such as filing and data entry
- Prepare documents and curriculum for teachers
- Advise students on required courses in their program
- Provide and execute clear and prompt reports when assigned
- Clearly communicate any follow up required for student requests, concerns or questions
- Receive requests from students and follow process to ensure great student experience
- Conduct school tours for potential students
- Organize and plan onsite activities for students for holidays or other celebrations
- Engage in weekly meetings with team members
- Plan ahead for high intakes and groups
- Record student interactions that require follow up
- Communicate with other departments to complete a student’s request
- Follow up with students, and providers effectively
- Collect, and record cash payments
- Train and supervise interns
- All other duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience as a Customer Service Representative or in a similar role is a must
- Previous experience in an administrative position in a school setting, preferred but not required.
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Works well under pressure and provides ample solutions to problems/issues
- Excellent phone and verbal communication skills
- Experience with international students is preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to solve problems effectively and communicate when help is needed
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Office/GoogleSuite knowledge
