POSITION TITLE: Admissions Coordinator (Temporary)

DEPARTMENT: SSEM - Admissions

PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, with occasional travel to all Bristol campus locations.

POSITION STATUS: This is an MCCC full time, Temporary, state funded, unit position with benefits.

SALARY: salary range $71,522 - $83,705 annually*
  • Labor Grade 6 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which may result in a higher salary than the stated range. Please refer to the New Hire Tables in the CBA for more information.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This Admissions Coordinator position is a Temporary position that will support the recruitment and enrollment of new students through virtual and face-to-face services. Maintain professional knowledge of all enrollment-based functions and provide information to students about various areas/services, including but not limited to Admissions, Academic programs, Pre-College programs, Testing, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Transfer.
  • Provide information to prospective students about academic programs, support services, admissions and enrollment processes and procedures.
  • Attend college fairs, transition fairs, career fairs and similar events.
  • Facilitate admissions appointments on-campus and at external partner locations.
  • Coordinate and host campus tours and information sessions.
  • Coordinate enrollment driven events with internal and external partners.
  • Schedule events based on an appropriate enrollment timeline.
  • Manage and execute event logistics.
  • Host post-event debrief to assess outcome and inform future planning.
  • Review post-secondary transcripts for transfer credit eligibility, make referrals to alternative pathways for credit transfer as appropriate, and facilitate the posting of transfer credit and notification to students.
  • Review applications for selective programs and make admission recommendations to Associate Director

Perform tasks associated with admissions activities for geographic region/special populations.
  • Collect, organize and report meaningful data to illustrate trends and inform decisions.
  • Review annually the conversion of inquiries to enrolled from high school and community partners, identify recruitment opportunities for next cycle.
  • Maintain and update inquiry and applicant records within Slate and other Bristol systems, as appropriate.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance awareness, knowledge and contributions to role, department and college.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to represent Bristol and highlight the work of admissions, testing and enrollment.
  • Utilize Slate Knowledgebase, Test Slate environment and Clean Slate environment to enhance knowledge of and skills to best leverage system.
  • Operate a computer and utilize college technology including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Microsoft Teams, Bookings, Avaya soft phone and voicemail, Verizon Mifi, myBristol, Banner, Argos reporting, DegreeWorks, Slate and Dynamic Forms.
  • Regularly access key admissions reports and data to inform recruitment and enrollment practices.
  • Use data and reporting to proactively identify and refer inquiries, applicants and new admits to support services.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks related to admissions office operations (i.e. - sets up tables, packets and materials for recruitment events; answers telephones and records messages; supports general admissions email account; processes/files documentation). Maintain updated calendar in Outlook.

Attend and participate at Admissions, division, and all-college meetings, as well as related meetings assigned by the Associate Director.

Perform assigned responsibilities at all Bristol locations, including some nights and weekends, during peak periods, to reflect student and family needs.

Ensure compliance with all College policies as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.
  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Liberal Arts, or closely related field.*
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience and/or training involving college admissions, transfer credit evaluation, or academic counseling/advisement.*
  • *An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, student information systems, CRM and reporting databases.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated experience working with traditional (high school graduate) and non-traditional student populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present presentations to small (5-10) and large (100+) audiences at events hosted at Bristol, as well as at community/high school partner locations.
  • Robust understanding and demonstrated inclusion of access, equity, and student success practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and consistent experience in using varied social media outlets on behalf of a business or organization that has proven to increase the digital footprint of the organization's brand.
  • Experience working in a community college setting
  • Experience with Banner, Argos, and/or Slate.
  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
