Provide academic and career advisement to students in the BFA Studio Art degree program at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development; recruit students, provide information and advice on the University, the School, the Department's academic programs; manage admissions process, interview prospective students and asses applicant portfolios in all visual media for the BFA Program. Write and edit copy and provide course information for bulletin, website, and promotional materials. Assist with the coordination of the Senior Honors Studio Program and provide oversight and coordination of the BFA Studios facility
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years Must have relevant experience in student affairs, including administrative experience, advising students, reviewing portfolios in all studio media, and managing admissions processing.
Preferred Experience:
Professional art practice, teaching experience, work experience with undergraduate students in an art-related environment, administrative responsibilities.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong communication, interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills. Dedication to student interests and concerns; ability to mentor, offer career advice, oversee clubs and events. Ability and willingness to work weekends.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $63,000.00 to USD $73,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
