POSITION TITLE: Admissions Counselor REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Admissions POSITION SUMMARY: Admissions Counselor serves as a primary student recruiter and represents the College both on and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Travel to high schools and other colleges or universities within an assigned geographic territory, educating and preparing higher education-bound students on such subjects as the benefits of secondary education, admissions processes, financial aid and scholarship practices, and resources for professional growth. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement an effective recruiting and enrollment plan for the assigned territory.
- Process student applications and determine admission status to the college, communicating decision to the applicant, advising on next steps, etc. Enter all data in appropriate student information system and/or CRM.
- Communicate with prospective and admitted students through verbal and written communication (social media, phone calls, emails, texts, postcards, letters, etc.).
- Ensure all communications with students and families are logged by entering all relevant data into the appropriate system.
- Develop, coordinate, and provide educational sessions on the admissions process and Eureka College for high schools and/or other secondary education audiences.
- Plan and implement travel schedule to reach the target audiences in the assigned territory.
- Develop, and maintain relationships with high school and community college counselors to identify prospective audiences and students.
- Interpret prospective students’ education materials and counsel on potential path in secondary education as appropriate, ie; grade-point averages in relationship to college acceptance.
- Create presentations with the office of financial aid to explain financial aid processes and awards along with college scholarships & aid to students/parents. Maintain knowledge of current financial aid policies and procedures for Federal, State, and Institutional Aid including an understanding of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Travel required. Some evenings and weekends are required.
- Work collaboratively with other admissions staff to plan, organize, and conduct on-campus events and educational sessions.
- Work with faculty, coaches, and staff in recruitment efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to achieve enrollment goals using initiative and self-motivation.
- Knowledge of operating standard office equipment and computer systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to develop proficient knowledge of Eureka College (including academics, campus life, and personnel).
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
