Compensation: The starting annual base salary range for this position is $68,900 - $75,000.

Position Summary and Responsibilities
Vassar College seeks a full-time Associate Director in the Office of International Programs (OIP). By facilitating meaningful student and faculty engagement in learning opportunities outside the United States, the OIP contributes to Vassar's mission of nurturing intellectual curiosity, creativity, respectful discourse and engaged citizenship from a global perspective.
The Associate Director will join an inclusive and experienced team that supports the College's global engagement, a key aspect of Vassar's liberal arts education. The core function of OIP is to steward student participation in education abroad. At Vassar, nearly 50% of students study abroad for a full semester or an academic year prior to graduation; additional students participate in short-term programs associated with on-campus classes or special programs.
The OIP partners with faculty to administer Vassar programs in London and Clifden, and consortium programs in Berlin, Bologna, Paris, and Madrid. OIP also manages Vassar's exchange partnerships with institutions in Paris, Beijing, Tokyo, Kyoto, Exeter, Toulouse, and Singapore. In addition to Vassar programs, the office manages a list of approximately 130 other approved programs that students may access. OIP also supports a number of additional global partnerships and initiatives.
The Associate Director reports to the Assistant Dean and Director of International Programs and Global Partnerships.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and support the development of the Study Abroad Advisor.
• Lead management of Terra Dotta study abroad application and risk management software.
• Manage administration and partnership development for Vassar exchange programs and intensive courses with international travel components.
• Support administration of Vassar sponsored programs.
• Oversee implementation of on-campus programming.
• Manage pre, during, and post study abroad communications with student participants.
• Liaise with key campus stakeholders and represent OIP at campus events.
• Liaise with institutional and provider program partners.
• Oversee study abroad scholarship advising.
• Assist the Director with assessment and reporting on study abroad enrollment and evaluation data and policies and practices as related to equity and inclusion in education abroad.
• Participate in conferences (domestically and abroad) and program site visits abroad as needed. The incumbent should expect to travel 2-3 times per year.
• Comply with FERPA, Title IX, and Clery Act requirements.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of professional experience in international education or equivalent combination of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with professional standards and codes of ethics in the field of international education.
• Demonstrated motivation to enhance inclusion in education abroad or other settings.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong intercultural communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to diplomatically communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education.
• Ability to periodically travel and perform site visits.
• Must exercise independence and sound judgement while responding to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders and problem solving on a daily basis.
• Experience with database management systems.
Preferred:
• Master's Degree in International Education or related field.
• Experience with Terra Dotta Software.
