Job Description
Hourly student employees who hold a professional position that furthers the professional and/or academic development of the graduate student. The duties performed are professional in nature and under the direct supervision of faculty, academic professionals, or administrators. The duties do not involve classroom instruction or research integral to the student¿s degree program or dissertation. The graduate assistant's responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, administrative and professional internships. The Dean of Graduate Studies must approve GA appointments. ( Assigned elapsed time reporting.) FLSA needed use 11/20/16

Work Schedule
9-10 hours, generally between M-F 8am-5pm. Some morning availability required, with occasional evening or weekend events

Enrolled as a degree-seeking KU graduate student in at least 6 hours, or a post-comp doctoral student enrolled in dissertation hours, for the Fall and Spring semesters that the appointment is held and in academic good standing. Summer enrollment is not required. Some morning availability for presentation and event coverage. Experience delivering presentations as evidenced by application materials. Excellent written communication skills as evidenced by application materials. Previous participation in an experiential learning activity (study abroad, undergraduate research, service learning, or an internship) as evidenced by application materials.
Bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts and sciences or evidence of interdisciplinary learning experiences. An undergraduate or graduate degree from the University of Kansas. Experience in handling detail-oriented projects requiring a high degree of organizational skills. Strong attention to detail as evidenced through previous employment or by application materials.

The University Honors Program is seeking a Graduate Assistant to contribute to the recruitment and admission of undergraduate students. In collaboration with KU Honors staff, the graduate assistant will meet with prospective students and guests, and deliver both in person and virtual presentations that outline the strengths and benefits of the program. The GA will also contribute to the application review process, as well as participate in program-wide initiatives and events.
The KU Honors Program is a university-wide program that serves approximately 1,700 undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the KU professional schools. The program provides students with avenues to deeply explore their academic interests, while also engaging in interdisciplinary inquiry.
Additional Candidate Instruction
In addition to the online application, the following documents are required to be considered for this position:
1. A cover letter addressing how required and preferred qualifications are met.
2. Resume or curriculum vitae.
3. Contact information for three professional references.
